Up North

Our first official Meade-Lane-Pertzborn week up north. What a fun week it was! Jess, Beau, Mom, Dad, Bry, Derek, and I, and of course all of the kiddos, headed up to Hayward on Sunday. Edi joined the fun on Monday. I wasn't exactly sure what the week was going to bring but overall everything went really well. Tessa and Nolan are still having withdrawal from Mitchell, Mason, and Marah, (and Nolan is still having massive withdrawal from Grandpa and Beau) but we are so super lucky that we'll see them all many more times this summer;) We kind of laughed when we all headed away from the cabin last Saturday before driving home. Most families would leave their family vacation saying their goodbyes and planning to see each other a few times in the next year but when we left we all said, "See you tomorrow". Once again one of those things that we are so thankful for. (And for the record...we don't usually see each other EVERY day. It just so happens to be a million degrees outside so we can't help but want to be splashing around in the Meade swimming pool..and of course visiting with the fam while we are at it!!)

The week up north was super fun. The weather was gorgeous at the beginning of the week and we really only had one really rainy day. Most days were spent fishing, swimming, playing at the beach, playing in the backyard, eating, laughing, sleeping, playing with the kids. We also went to our first ever lumber jack show which was really funny. Mason was chosen to go on stage which was adorable. Cute, little, innocent Mas. You could tell he was so nervous but gave 110% in his "YO-HO". Very cute. We also got a pontoon boat for a day which was a great idea (good idea Beau!!). We spent the day cruising around and a few of the kids tried tubing. Mason was definitely the bravest and wanted Beau to go faster and faster!

The day before we left to come back home we went to Bayfield and played on a beach on Lake Superior (once again...good idea Jess and Beau!). It was super fun. It really did have the same feeling as the ocean with the waves crashing in. All of the kids really loved it! Nolan had this thing going on where he kept doing head stands. It was really funny and he kept laughing at himself doing it. I think he loved the noise of the waves crashing in and played on the beach very contently for the entire time we were there. That day on the beach was a great end to our vacation.

Thanks for a great trip mom and dad. The house that you picked out for us all to stay in was PERFECT and it was so much fun to all be together all week.

Here's a few pics from the week. I couldn't just pick a few...
